Economic Development - An Overview

Walgett Shire covers 22,000 square kilometres and has a population of 7199 people and includes the towns of Walgett, Lightning Ridge, Burren Junction, Collarenebri, Carinda, Cumborah, Grawin Glengarry & Sheepyard Opal Fields, Rowena and Pokataroo. Lightning Ridge is the Shires largest town with 2602 people. Walgett has a population of 1735, Collarenebri has 470 people, Cumborah has 492 people. Rowena has a population of 201 while Carinda has 194 presidents and Burren Junction has 130.
