Community Assistance Scheme


Applications for the first round of financial assistance for 2016/2017 are now open for applications from non-profit community groups and/or organisations. 

Submissions must be completed on the application form, which is available from Council's Community Service Department or by downloading from Council's website.

* Please note that payment requests (Invoice) for Council approved funding for the 2016 / 2017 financial year are required by 5pm on 30th June 2017. Any unclaimed approved funding will be forfeited after this date to be offered in the next Round of funding and a new application will be required.

Walgett Shire Council supports a number of funding programs and offers a range of community assistance programs. 

 

The following information is provided to assist in obtaining a grant.

ANZ Trustees - As a trustee of over 230 charitable foundations, ANZ Trustees has the discretion as to amounts and recipients of philanthropic funds.

Arts NSW - Arts NSW is a branch within NSW Trade & Investment and is the NSW Government's arts policy and funding body.

Australian Charities - is a website that provides information on charities including volunteers and fundraising.

Australian Council for the Arts - The Australia Council for the Arts is the Australian Government's arts funding and advisory body. Supporting Australia's arts through funding, strengthening and developing the arts sector.

Bulletpoint - Government Grant Newsletter - Bulletpoint provides the most up to date information on grants and funding available.

Bunnings Warehouse - Bunnings is proud to provide a wide range of support for a cross section of local community groups, not-for-profit and charitable organisations.

BUPA Health Foundation - the Bupa Health Foundation looks to fund new initiatives that provide a clear benefit to the Australian community. This year, the Foundation is inviting expressions of interest for funding in the key strategic areas of: well being, chronic disease, healthy ageing, empowering people about their health and promoting affordable healthcare.

Coles Local Community Support Program - Local Community Support program recognises these grass-roots groups and organisations by providing support to help with fundraisers, raffles, community days and other activities.

Community Builders - provides a link to both government and non-government grants that aims to assist local communities across NSW and covers all aspects of funding opportunities.

Community Relations Commission for a Multicultural NSW - The Commission recognises and values the different linguistic, religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds of residents of NSW, and promotes equal rights and responsibilities for all residents of NSW.

Department of Education and Communities - A number of grants and funding opportunities are available through programs for sport and recreation, early childhood, young people, vocational training and community groups.

Department of Environment & Heritage - OEH manages various grants programs under the banner of the NSW Environmental Trust. These programs fund projects that rehabilitate or regenerate the environment, or promote environmental education and sustainability.

Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations - The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations may offer grants to organisations or individuals, to support the Australian Government's policies and programs on early childhood, school education, workplace training, workplace relations and youth affairs.

Department of Family & Community Services - (FaHCSIA) exists to support the Government and, through our Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries, to deliver on a broad range of social policy outcomes.

Department of Primary Industries - The Department of Primary Industries is a division within NSW Trade & Investment and works to develop and sustain diverse, profitable food and fibre industries, and ensures best practice management of our natural resources.

Destination NSW Grants & Funding - Listing of specific tourism funding and grants programs available to NSW tourism businesses.

Federation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) - FRRR works by attracting support (cash and in kind) from businesses and other trusts and foundations, private individuals and communities. These donations are then distributed through a number of programs as grants for the benefit of rural and regional Australia.

Grants Gov Australia - Government funding, loans and grants for small businesses, individuals, enterprise, innovation and community.

Grant Guru - Australia's largest FREE searchable listing of Nation-Wide grants and funding programs for community based and not-for-profit organisations.

Grant Search - There are over 200 grants for businesses in the grantsearch database.

GrantsLink - provides information on Commonwealth Government community grants with a focus on regional Australia.

IMB Community Foundation -  The IMB Community Foundation was established in 1999 to provide financial support to community groups with positive ideas and concepts to help them convert their ideas into working projects.

Landcare Australia - Landcare Australia brokers partnerships with a range of companies to provide resources for Landcare and other community volunteer groups.

NAB Community Grants - 20 NAB Community Grants of up to $2000 each are awarded quarterly to organisations nominated by NAB employees who are involved in their activities.

Namoi Catchment Management Authority - Namoi CMA has incentive funding available for on-ground works, activities and training aimed at improving the health of the Catchment's landscapes.

NSW Sport and Recreation- Sport & Recreation assist the people of NSW participate in sport and recreation. Recognising that there's more to sport that just playing it. Sport and recreation play a vital role in binding our communities together, and participation in physical activity creates a broad range of benefits for all members of the community.

Optus Community Grants - Optus Community Grants offers funding to non-profit organisations, who strive to provide critically needed services and opportunities to people in need within their community.

Our Community - offers a grants newsletter called Easy Grants on a subscription basis. Non-profit groups can subscribe for $55 and government, private enterprise and individuals can subscribe for various packages from $330.

Pathways Australia - assists non-profit organisations with information and management support.

Philanthropy Australia - provides information and links to private, family and other charitable trusts that offer grant funding.

Regional Arts NSW - Regional Arts NSW is the peak body and support agency for arts and cultural development in regional NSW.

Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RASF) - The RAS Foundation provides grants and scholarships to help rural Australians realise their potential through education, make a difference in their community and achieve their ambitions. 

The Australian Taxation Office - also provides key information for non-profit organisations on reforms and has published a guide about fundraising.

The Grants and Funding Institute - The Grants & Funding Institute offers support services and assistance to organisations seeking government, philanthropic or other funding opportunities.

The Myer Foundation & Sidney Myer Fund - The Sidney Myer Fund aims to assist in the area of poverty and disadvantage with its Large Grants Program focusing on rural and regional Australia. The small Grants Program supports strategies to benefit Australian communities.
The Telstra Foundation - the Telstra Foundation supports community organisations that share our vision of making a positive and lasting difference to the lives of Australia's children and young people.

Woolworths Community Progams - Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Community Grants program has helped fund over 4,600 grassroots initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of primary school aged kids across the country.
