Western Slopes Pipeline Project
Preliminary Environmental Assessment for the Western Slopes Pipeline Project
APA Western Slopes Pipeline Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the APA Group (together referred to as APA), is proposing to construct a 400-450mm diameter, buried steel, high pressure gas line approximately 450 kilometres in lenght to connect the Narrabri Gas Project (NGP) to New South Wales gas transmission network.
The Preliminary Environmental Assessment for the Western Slopes Pipeline Project has recently been submitted to the Department of Planning and Environment and Council has made this document available for public viewing at of our office at 77 Fox Street, Walgett, between the hours of 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Proposed Walgett Solar Farm
The Development Application and Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Walgett Solar Farm will be on public exhibition from 8 March 2017 until 6 April 2017.

Walgett Shire Council has lodged a Development Application from Joseph Flick Collarenebri Local Aboriginal Land Council for an amenities block at the Collarenebri Aboriginal Cemetery located on Lot 100, DP 1162159, Western Land Lease 15046, Gundabloui Road, Collarenebri.
The Development Application, Statement of Environmental Effects and plans will be on public display at Walgett Shire Council’s Administration Office, 77 Fox Street, Walgett, Lightning Ridge Public Library and the Collarenebri Agency. The documents may be viewed Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.00am until 4.30pm from 15 February 2017 to 17 March 2017. They are also available on Council’s web site: www.walgett.nsw.gov.au.
The proposed development is an “integrated” development for purposes of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The development will require concurrence from the Heritage Council of NSW as the item is listed on the State Heritage Register section 57 (1) of the Heritage Act 1977.
All written submissions on the proposed development will be considered by Walgett Shire Council if received prior to 5.00pm on Friday, 17 March, 2017. If a written submission is made that objects to the development, then the grounds of objection should be specified within the submission. Note that submissions will be treated as a matter of public record.

Planning Proposal to amend the Walgett Local Environmental Plan 2013
Walgett Shire Council is publicly exhibiting a Planning Proposal to amend the Walgett Local Environmental Plan 2013 from Monday 23 January to Friday 10 March 2017. A Local Environmental Plan is a legal document prepared by Council to regulate land use and development within the Shire.
The Planning Proposal can be accessed via Council’s web site at www.walgett.nsw.gov.au
Hard copies of the Planning Proposal will also be available for public inspection at
Walgett - Council Office at 77 Fox Street.

· Grawin, Glengarry Sheepyard - GGSMA office, Glengarry opal field.Council encourages all individuals and groups within the community to consider the Planning Proposal and make written submissions regarding any matters that they would like to raise with Council. All submissions received prior to the close of business on Friday 10 March 2017 will be considered by Council.
