Liquid trade wasteLast modified: December 20, 2007 - 4:00 PM
Local Water Utilities such as Walgett Shire Council, are responsible for the provision of water supply and reticulated sewerage services in New South Wales country towns. Pollution and damage to the envrionment resulting from poor liquid trade waste management practices have resulted in successive governments creating a number of statutes aimed at greater protection of the environment, health and safety. Council is required to adopt a policy for the discharge of liquid trade waste into sewer systems for implementation in mid 2009. Copies of the draft policy can be obtained via the link below. Written submissions are encouraged and will be accepted until 25 January 2008. Walgett Shire Council will consider all submissions it receives prior to formal adoption of the Policy. Contact details
