The Macquarie Marshes Discovery Day has been organised in response to the demand from people to visit the marsh while it is experiencing the best conditions for about seven years. Visitors will be guided around sections of the North Marsh Reserve by National Parks and Wildlife Staff.
Directions: The meeting point is located 100kms west on Coonamble via Coonamble Quambone Road continuing west via the Gibson Way. or 106kms north of Warren via the Warren - Carinda Road.

Private 4WD transport is required to access Nature Reserve.
Children must be accommpanied by a paying adult.
Please take precautions against being bitten by mosquitoes.
Appropriate Clothing: Old sandshoes for walking in water, plus a spare pair of sturdy enclosed footwear for the 'dry' walk, long sleeved shirt, old pants or shorts, hat.
What else to bring: DEET based insect repellant, sunglasses, sunscreen, backpacks with personal first aid kit, binoculars, relevant field guides and camera. Waterproof protection against any water damage for valuable electronic equipment that you may choose to bring.
As this is a self catering event, please be sure to bring your snacks, lunch and plenty of drinking water for the day.
All vehicles meet at the intersection of Warren - Carinda Road (west of the Macquarie River) and the Gibson Way at 9am.
