What to do in Collarenebri

Collarenebri is regarded as one of the best inland fishing locations in Australia. The Barwon river at Collarenebri is reknowned for it's plentiful water supply and fantastic fishing sites. It provides sanctuary and recreation during long hot summers, with kilometres of secluded camping sites.

Aboriginal Cemetery

A well maintained sacred Aboriginal Cemetery just out of town, is unique. Arrange a tour with a knowledgeable local guide.

Collymongle Station

Visit the Collymongle Station and see the Carved trees, which are a must see item of great significance to the indigenous people of the area.

Collarenebri Township

Many of the buildings in Collarenebri today date back to 1910. As is many other towns of its era, the early streetscapes of Collarenebri were shaped by fire, which frequently destroyed buildings and so heralded rebuilding and change. Wander around the town and imagine what the early days may have been like.

Cutler's Store

Cutler's store opened in 1937, a small, family run general store.

Closed in 2009, this store was resurrected in June 2010 by current owners Mark and Isabel Addy. The store has changed considerably since then when it sold mainly groceries, pies and soft drinks together with a small collection of hardware and fishing gear.

Today, according to our customers, we are the home of the best freshly cooked food in town, particularly our home made burgers, made to our own recipe and are available as eat in or takeaway and our homemade scones used for our delicious Devonshire Teas. Added to that is the fact that in response to our customers concerns, we are now a Mobile Phone Free Zone. We are the only store in town to be able to offer an all day cooked breakfast. However if you are only looking for a pie that has been stewing in a warmer for an unknown number of hours, then we can't help you as all our food is freshly cooked and prepared to order. Taste the difference.

Oh, and while you are waiting for your order, you can keep yourself amused by reading the jokes on the wall. Some even take photos of them.
We also serve great coffee which surprises the townies not expecting such luxuries out here in the bush.
In addition to all that, we are also able to offer the following:
Ladies and gents basic clothing items including "socks 'n jocks", famous brand T shirts including aboriginal flag T shirts and singlets, all at very reasonable prices.
Jigsaws and soft toys.
Lollies and ice creams.
A variety of soft drinks including Lillymans and Charlies honest quenchers.
A selection of new and used DVDs and pre-loved books.
A good variety of novelties, gifts and watches.
So next time you're in Colly, don't just keep going towards Moree and the Ridge, stay awhile and enjoy some refreshment. We'll even fill your flask for you. Looking forward to seeing you.
We are located on the northern end of town where there is ample street parking.
