Applications - Development Application and Construction Certificate
Last modified: March 2, 2009 - 3:28 PM
Development proposals that cannot be approved via a Complying Development Certificate are usually dealt with under a Development Application.
Please note that certain minor works do not require any approval from Council and are known as "exempt development". The simplest way to obtain Council approval for basic residential development is ususally via a Complying Development Certificate application. More information on exempt development and Complying Development Certificates is available from the NSW Department of Planning web site at www.planning.nsw.gov.au/housingcode .
More complex development proposals must have prior approval from Walgett Shire Council via a Development Application and Construction Certificate application. An approved Development Application allows land to be legally used for particular purposes and/or undertake a subdivision. If an approval is issued, it is usually subject to certain conditions, such as limiting the hours of operation and requiring building inspections to be undertaken at certain stages of construction. More information can be obtained from brochure and forms below.
Please contact staff from the Planning & Regulatory Services division of Walgett Shire Council for any further assistance.
