Waste Oil Recycling

Walgett Shire Council now offers a waste oil recycling service located at Walgett and Lightning Ridge Landfills. The service is provided free to landfill users.
This project was funded through a Transitional Assistance Grant by the Product Stewardship for Oil Programme of the Department of the Environment and Water Resources.
Waste Oil Recycling units can accept the following types of oils:
- engine oils
- lubricants
- petroleum based oils
The recycling units will not accept:
- cooking oils
- vegetable oils
