Walgett Shire Council are undertaking the development of an Active Travel Plan in order to understand the current and future needs of the community in regards to walking and cycling. The Plan will focus on residents, school children, older persons, mobility and vision impaired and tourists.

Council are undertaking the project in conjunction with ROSS Planning, who are inviting residents of Walgett, Lightning Ridge and Collarenebri to come and discuss the project and their walking and cycling needs at the following times and locations:


·         Monday 27th March, 4.30pm – 5.30pm               Outside Walgett IGA, 36 Fox Street

·         Tuesday 28th March, 12.00 - 1.00PM                      Outside Lightning Ridge IGA, 33 Opal Street

·         Tuesday 28th March, 4.30pm-5.30Pm                  Outside Khan’s Foodtown, Wilson Street Collarenebri


In addition to the above community drop-ins, an online survey is available on Council’s website for residents    to fill in until April 14th 2017
