Public Exhibition

Council places documents, policies and development applications on public exhibition for community feedback.

Documents can be viewed at Council’s Customer Service Centres:

  • Walgett Shire Council Administration Office – 77 Fox Street, Walgett
  • Lightning Ridge Administration Office – 35 Pandora Street, Lightning Ridge
  • Collarenebri Agency – 6 Wilson Street, Collarenebri

If no items are listed, there are currently no documents on public exhibition.

Documents and policies placed on exhibition have been endorsed by Council prior to public display.

Community Assistance Grants Policy

Public Exhibition – Draft Community Assistance Grants Policy

The draft Community Assistance Grants Policy for Walgett Shire Council was adopted for public exhibition at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 16 December 2025.

Council now invites the community to view the draft policy and provide feedback.

Public Exhibition Period
The public exhibition period will be 37 days, recognising that the standard 28-day notice period would be inadequate due to the number of public holidays occurring between:

Making a Submission
Council encourages all individuals and community groups to review the draft policy and make written submissions on any matters they wish Council to consider.

All submissions must be received by:

Following consideration of public submissions, the draft policy will be reported back to Council for formal consideration and adoption at a future Council meeting.
