Outback Outloud Project

Outback Outloud Project – Podcast

The Outback Outloud project has collected over 100 interviews from the Outback Arts region.  The first part of the project was held in your local communities of Brewarrina, Bourke, Cobar and Walgett.  The stories captured are completely unique perspectives, 100% unscripted, and are the greatest stories never told.  Produced into the podcast series Outback Outloud these heart-felt stories are now accessible digitally across the globe, available forever to share and enjoy!

You can listen to the Outback Outloud Podcast Series here.

The Outback Outloud Project is ongoing and focuses on:

– the community ‘storybooth’ which is a place to collect a diverse range of people’s everyday stories.  Here, everyone is invited & welcome to turn up, have a cuppa, share a story or be interviewed.

– providing free workshops where community members can learn how to interview, record and preserve stories. This is a great do-it-yourself opportunity where attendees learn new skills that can continue to be passed on to others.

This project will continue in 2022 when we travel to Nyngan, Warren and Coonamble. The Outback Outloud project is an opportunity to strengthen connections between people, teaching the value of listening to each other and can promote greater understanding that everyone’s story matters.  Audio recordings provide valuable first-hand testimonies from the storyteller who describe events, memories and experiences from their own unique perspective.
