Draft Walgett Shire Community Participation Plan
The Draft Walgett Shire Community Participation Plan (DWSCPP) was adopted for public exhibition at the 25 February 2020 Council Meeting. Council now invites the community to view and comment on the draft plan.
The purpose of the DWSCPP sets out how and when Council will engage with the community when undertaking its town planning functions under the Environment Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act 1979). It applies to the entire Walgett Local Government Area. An effective community consultation program does not necessarily mean that all interested parties will be satisfied with the outcome. Rather, effective community consultation is about ensuring that a proposal has been fully explored and that community concerns are identified and considered. The DWSCPP will be sent to NSW Department of Planning and Environment for comment during the exhibition period.
The DWSCPP is on public exhibition from Wednesday 4 March 2020 until Friday 3 April 2020 and can be viewed on Council’s website www.walgett.nsw.gov.au and hard copies are also available for public inspection at:
