Shop Local Campaign Competition Terms & Conditions

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions.

Customer entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 or older as of 21.11.20

Business participation is open only to businesses that are located in the Walgett Local Government Area and that display the Walgett Shire Council “2020 Shop Local” sticker (Participating Business).

All participating businesses must register to participate in the 2020 campaign. Registration forms can be obtained by contacting Once registered, a 2020 Shop Local sticker will be issued. Registrations must be received no later than 21.11.2020.

Competition starts on 30.11.2020 and concludes at 7pm on 18.10.2020

To enter, you must spend $20 or more in one transaction at a Registered Participating Business. 1 Receipt per transaction.

Customers must write details of their name, telephone number and address on the back of the receipt showing expenditure of $20 or more. (Entry Receipts)

The Entry Receipt must be left at the Participating Business. The Entry Receipt is the responsibility of the Registered Participating Business prior to delivery to the Walgett Visitor Information Centre

The Registered Participating Business must deliver all Entry Receipts held by them to the Walgett Visitor Information Centre (88 Fox St, Walgett) by 7pm on 18.12.2020. Office hours are Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. Receipts can be submitted at any time prior to the 18th.

Prizes will be drawn on 18.12.2020 at the Walgett Late Night Shopping & Christmas Festival.

Prizes will be in the form of vouchers in  denominations and can redeemed at any of the local businesses that were registered to take part in the 2020 Buy Local Campaign. Vouchers are non-transferrable and will be valid until 31.012.2021. Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and no change will be given by the receiving business.

All registered businesses will receive a list of winners details for identification purposes. Businesses are required to forward an invoice to Walgett Shire Council to redeem the value of vouchers collected.

The 1st winning receipt’s Business will receive advertising space in the Walgett Spectator to the value of $690.

The draw consists of one (1) draw per prize with the first valid Entry Receipt drawn to win each successive prize. Winning Entry Receipts will not be eligible for the successive draws.
Winning customers and businesses will be contacted by phone and email within 5 days of the draw at the Walgett Late Night Shopping & Christmas Festival Friday 18th November 2020

No responsibility is accepted for any late, lost or misdirected Entry Receipt.

All Entry Receipts become the property of the Walgett Shire Council Entry Receipts will be stored securely at the Walgett Visitor Information Centre until the prize draw and then securely disposed of following the draw.

Walgett Shire Council may use the name of the entrant specified on the Entry Receipt and the details of the Participating Business delivering that Entry Receipt in promotional, marketing and publicity activities. The prize winners may be required to be part of the media promotion announcing the winning details of the competition.
