NSW SES Flood Bulletin – Barwon River Sunday 11th April 2021 2:00pm

Current Road Closures

A number of roads across the region are currently impacted by the rain and an updated road closure information can be found on Council’s website at: https://www.walgett.nsw.gov.au/engineering/emergency-management/road-condition-information/ 

Council has crews out installing signage, however the community should not enter flood waters even if signs are not yet installed.

Remember:  IF IT’S FLOODED – FORGET IT.

Please ensure that you don’t drive through flood waters.

Walgett Shire Council Update 4th April 2021

The General Manager Mike Urquhart wishes to advise Council staff and SES crews continue to monitor the Walgett flood gates for any leakage of flood water into the town
Four problem gate areas were secured overnight and additional works will be carried out in the next few days to ensure they are completely sealed in readiness for the next flood peak
Council staff will be making regular patrols of the levee  checking out any irregularities and taking evasive action where necessary
The General Manager will post rmedia releases to keep the community fully informed of flood mitigation measures and progress of the Flood event

SES UPDATE FOR WALGETT COMMUNITY FOR THE COMING DAYS 31st MARCH 2021

The floodwater in the Barwon River is currently at 10.28 metres and rising in Walgett.

In the coming days, please be aware of the following impacts floodwater might have on the Walgett community.
