Walgett Shire Councillors

On 14 September 2024 Local Government Elections were held across NSW. Enrolled residents and ratepayers across the Walgett Shire Local Government Area voted for 9 Councillors to be appointed for the next Council term until September 2028.

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor were elected by their fellow Councillors at an extraordinary meeting on the 8 October 2024, for a two year term. 

Update – 26 May 2025: Former Councillor Scott Bailey has formally resigned from Council. The countback process to fill the vacancy is now underway. Read the media release here.
