CWP Refresh Meeting
Walgett Community Working Party – Chairperson Election Meeting
Purpose of Meeting:
To elect the Chairperson of the Walgett Community Working Party (CWP).
Aboriginal community members who reside in Walgett are invited to attend the upcoming CWP refresh meeting to elect a new Chairperson. The meeting will be conducted in line with the governance requirements of the Murdi Paaki Regional Assembly (MPRA).
Walgett is one of 16 CWPs across the Murdi Paaki region that form the MPRA. The MPRA meets quarterly in Cobar to discuss key issues affecting Aboriginal communities across the region. The elected Chairperson for Walgett CWP may be required to attend MPRA meetings outside of Walgett, which may involve overnight travel.
This is a voluntary (non-monetary) position. However, travel, accommodation, and incidental expenses will be covered when attending MPRA business.
The Chairperson will be elected by secret ballot on the day, with the process supported by MPRA Chairperson Grace Gordon.
