EOI Crime Prevention Advisory Committee

At its Ordinary Meeting on 26 August 2025, Walgett Shire Council resolved to establish a Crime Prevention Advisory Committee.
The Committee will provide advice and local knowledge to support the development of an evidence-based Crime Prevention Plan for the Walgett Shire Local Government Area. This plan will help Council and the NSW Government better understand local crime issues and identify practical actions to improve safety across our communities.
Membership
The Committee will bring together a mix of people from across the Shire, including:

Councillors and Council staff

NSW Police representatives
-
Members of the Walgett Shire Interagency Group
-
A representative from the NSW Department of Education
-
Local business representative
-
Aboriginal community representatives
-
A youth representative
Further Information
The Committee will operate within existing Council resources. Its Terms of Reference outline the Committee’s role, structure, and responsibilities.
