Thanks for taking a SEC! Shire Enterprise Connect Wrap Up.

As part of Small Business Month, Walgett Shire Council recently hosted “Take a SEC” (Shire Enterprise Connect) workshops in Walgett and Lightning Ridge. These sessions were designed to help local businesses and sole traders better understand how to work with council — and we’d like to thank everyone who took a 'SEC' to drop in and connect.

Whether you’re running a small business, freelancing, or holding an ABN as a sole trader, navigating council procurement can feel complex. These workshops aimed to simplify the process, highlight opportunities, and show how to get involved — even if you’re just starting out.

We were very grateful to have Jerram from Local Government Procurement (LGP) onsite, and we’ve included a downloadable slideshow below that outlines the benefits of becoming an LGP supplier.
