Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP)
A Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP) is a document that outlines what procedures are in place to minimise the risk of a pollution incident on a premises. This includes having clear and effective notification, action and communication procedures to ensure the incident is dealt with safely, and all relevant people and authorities are notified, and kept informed throughout the incident. All holders of environment protection licences, or licensees, are required to prepare a PIRMP in accordance with section 153A of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (POEO Act).

The Walgett Waste Management Facility is covered by this PIRMP which incorporates activities of a Solid Waste (Putrescible) Landfill and ancillary waste management related activities undertaken by WSC and/or by WSC’s Contractor/s.
